Hidden Valley’s race programs are designed to give young skiers the skills they need to be superior skiers, whether or not they race. Our excellent coaching staff is dedicated to the needs of the children, and has produced state champions and US Ski Team members. With one of the longest continually running race programs in the region, Hidden Valley is recognized as a leader in ski racing. Helenback, Hidden Valley’s race trail (expanded in 2004) is FIS homologated and the best training terrain around. In addition to having superb terrain, HV racers have their own training center separate from the lodge. There are a variety of programs at Hidden Valley for kids as young as 5 yrs. old, through high school and adult racers. Regardless of age or level of ability, the students are always encouraged to have fun! The camaraderie among racers and coaches is clear; the love of skiing and having fun is always the goal.

Hurricanes: (Born in 2000-2001)
Saturdays & Sundays, 12:30-2:30 pm
This entry-level development program is the first step into
the racing program. Skiers must be able to ski in control by
themselves. Coaches make learning fun as they teach the
little ones the basics of good skiing technique. |

Hot Shots: (Born 1993-1999)
Saturdays & Sundays,
9 am –11 am or 12:30 pm-2:30 pm
This program is for skiers age 7-12. Like the Hurricane program,
it is an entry-level program. Kids work to develop
their skiing skills. A fun learning environment is key as kids
practice racing techniques. |

USSA Race Programs: (JI- JV: Born 1987 thru 1996 & later)
Tues./Thurs. 5:30 pm- 8:30 pm & Sat./Sun. 8:30 am -2:30 pm
The USSA Program is a more intensive program for juniors.
Based on the US Olympic Ski Team program, the kids get a
tremendous amount of ski time on the mountain working on
drills and honing their race technique. Skiers may choose
to participate in New Jersey Ski Racing Association races,
though this is optional. |

High School/ Masters Adult Racing
Sat./Sun. 8:30 am- 2:30 pm
High school racers who are current members of a school race
team will enjoy working with our coaches to bring their race
technique to the highest level. Adult skiers who enjoy USSA
Masters, ASRA and NASTAR or other race venues, will find this
program appropriate for perfecting their technique. |
